.Stella Mae Cook, age 100 of 12 Chateau Dr., Rome, GA passed away November 22, 2016 at Winthrop Health and Rehabilitation. A native of Alto, GA, Stella Mae Meadows was born June 10, 1916. She was the daughter of the late William Meadows and the late Linda Motts Meadows.
Stella was preceded in death by four sisters, Lizzie Davis, Ethel Scott, Ann Forrister, and Hazel English; and a brother Tig Meadows and by a daughter, Peggy Jean Kelley, and a grandson Terri Lee Cook.

Stella is survived by a son Kenneth (the late Dorothy) Cook of Rome; one granddaughter Cathy Money of Rome; two grandsons Todd (Allison) Kelley of Rome, Chad (Karen) Kelley of Charlotte, NC; five great-grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Kelli Money of Rome, Joseph (Brooke) Money of Rockmart, Parker Kelley of Rome, Georgia Ann and Margaret Kelley of Charlotte, NC; And, a great-great grandson Joshua Mosley of Rockmart.
Stella was a long time resident of Rome where she lived since leaving her childhood home in Alto, GA after she was married. She loved spending time with family and friends. She was a foster grandparent at Northwest Regional Hospital for 17 years. She won foster grandparent of the year and was honored at their annual dinner. She was a faithful member of Community Chapel Church, until becoming ill.
She loved traveling with family, friends, and church groups. Everyone who knew her loved her. She loved cutting up, and she was known for having a sharp wit.
The family will receive friends Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Daniels Funeral Home from 1pm to 2pm. A service will be held at 2pm following visitation, in the Thomas B. Griffin Chapel of Daniels Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Vines officiating. Interment will follow at East View Cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted.
Pallbearers will be Todd Kelley, Chad Kelley, Parker Kelley, Joseph Money, and Randy Vines.
